After the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, we are excited to return to in-person technical talks.

Stainless steel, renowned for its corrosion resistance and durability, is a crucial material across various industries. Understanding how to weld it effectively and restore its properties post-welding is essential knowledge for engineers, fabricators, and professionals in the field. In this talk, we will explore the nuances and intricacies of welding stainless steel and the processes that follow to ensure the material’s integrity and longevity.

Agenda: Our comprehensive discussion during this event will cover the following key topics:

  • the differences and similarities between carbon steel and stainless grades,
  • the effects of preparation and welding on stainless steel and how it differs with grades,
  • controlling weld processes to minimise damage and maximise integrity
  • Post weld processing to restore corrosion resistance and desired properties
  • Possible finishes for welded stainless steel

The dinner and registration will commence at 6.30pm.

Presenter:

Dr Graham Sussex
