ABSTRACT

This presentation details the engineering advancements behind the new 1100 Series Projector, which builds upon the performance standards of the 880 series. Through rigorous field data analysis, the 1100 Series introduces significant hardware upgrades to extend service life and enhance operational safety, including a redesigned S-tube that doubles the service life of previous models. This design also features a complete redesign of the locking mechanism using a small format interchangeable core (SFIC) for easier field replacement, as well as a weight reduction of over 10% coupled with improved shielding performance.

The presentation will also cover the introduction of the ‘VisiConnect’ source assembly, which ensures correct source-to-device compatibility to meet IATA transport standards. Furthermore, the device incorporates improved indicators for lock-slide position and bayonet connection status to provide clearer operator feedback. Attendees will gain insight into how these design principles ensure 100% compatibility with existing 880 series accessories, such as controls and guide tubes, enabling seamless integration of these safety and durability improvements into current operations.
