Members’ Night 2025
The Singapore Welding Society (SWS) hosted its annual Members’ Night 2025 on 25 April 2025 at The Chevrons, Singapore. This annual event brings together industry professionals, members, and partners for an evening of recognition, networking, and engagement.
The event commenced at 6:30 PM with registration, welcome drinks, and a photo opportunity at the event’s feature wall. By 7:00 PM, the evening was officially opened by the emcee, who provided a warm welcome and outlined the programme.
Professor John Pang, President of SWS, delivered a brief welcome speech, highlighting the society’s recent progress and expressing gratitude to all members for their continued support.
A key highlight of the evening was the SWS Distinguished Corporate Member Awards Presentation, where Professor Pang presented award plaques to:
Mr. Gan Ee Cheong from Element Testing Services Pte Ltd
Mr. Phoy Choo Seng from Continental Steel Pte Ltd
Mr. Thiruvarasan Arulanandam from Asia Projects Pte Ltd.
Following this, members and guest enjoyed a buffet dinner and networking session. The evening continued with the “AR Welding Competition”, a unique and engaging activity that featured:
A briefing session covering safety, competition rules, and scoring
A live competition where registered teams competed in a timed challenge
Enthusiastic participation and support from attendees
Mr. Suggu Ravi Chandra Reddy, SWS Membership Committee Chairman presented plaques in appreciation to HYPERTHERM and UNIWELD Products our exhibitors who contributed to the success of the evening. The competition concluded with the presentation of competition awards in recognition for the top 3 performing teams in the AR Welding Competition. Mr. Sze Thiam Siong, on behalf of SWS closed the event and delivered heartfelt closing remarks, thanking all attendees, partners, and contributors. Overall, the evening was a resounding success, reinforcing camaraderie within the welding community and showcasing the society’s commitment to professional growth and innovation.
